How to Maintain and Clean Your Outdoor Bench
One simple method of keeping your bench clean is to brush it. It can be used for the benches, lawns, or garden sweeps of leaves, twigs, and other debris. This step helps prevent build-up of dirt which can develop into stains on your bench.
Wash with Mild Soap and Water
If you have stains on your outdoor bench or it’s just looking a little worse for wear, all it takes to clean is some gentle soap and water. Just mix some soap with water and scrub the bench with a sponge or soft brush. Make sure to rinse the soap from the wood with clean water, so that no soap residue is left behind.
Repair Cracked or Splintered Wood Fast
If you notice any potholes or splintered wood on your benches for outside, make the necessary repairs. This will prevent further damage and prolong the life of your bench. Cracks and splinters can be patched with wood glue or wood filler. Then sand the area down until it’s smooth.
